The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Law Enforcement Leadership (BSCJ-CJCB) at East Texas A&M University is a 100% online, competency-based program designed specifically for law enforcement professionals, peace officers and military personnel. Tailored to meet the unique needs of first responders, this program provides flexible, self-paced learning that recognizes prior experience and training, such as police academy and other advanced certification.
With a focus on preparing law enforcement leaders for the challenges of modern policing, coursework emphasizes ethics and professionalism, leadership, officer wellness, communication, crisis response, and evidence-based practices. Students develop critical skills to lead with integrity, manage high-stakes incidents, and foster public trust. Graduates are equipped to make meaningful impacts in their agencies and communities while advancing their careers in law enforcement leadership.
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with emphasis in Law Enforcement Leadership requires the completion of 120 semester hours. Up to 30 semester hours of lower-level Criminal Justice credit may be awarded for those with certification (see note below). Up to 84 semester hours may be transferred into the program and the remaining courses are offered in 7-week terms.
Students who have completed the certification programs below may receive up to 30 semester hours of credit for the lower-level criminal justice required core courses once they have successfully completed 30 semesters hours from East Texas A&M University.

Second Bachelor’s Degree
Students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree, but are seeking a second bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with an Emphasis in Law Enforcement Leadership must complete:

All CJCB courses must be completed with a grade of B or better. No transfer hours or Law Enforcement Certification hours allowed.
