The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program enhances critical thinking and emphasizes
practical application through analysis and research in public administration.
The MPA program draws on economics, finance, management, political science, sociology,
and criminal justice. The MPA student will focus on courses in specific areas of concentration,
such as administrative, political, and policy analyses, economic development, public finance, and research
methodology.
Depending on the specialty, students may find careers with significant financial support
opportunities available in the public or private sectors. The Master of Public
Administration students also often hold leadership roles in waste management, public
utilities, law enforcement, emergency services, and other government offices
and programs. While other graduates run for or hold positions in public offices at the
local, state, and national levels of government.
